The Unclaimed Monies Process

Contact
Contact is made & either you complete a 'Free Search' form on our website
or
During our daily searches, we contact you to let you know that we may have potentially found some unclaimed monies in your name.
Letter of Authority
To move ahead we require you to sign the Letter of Authority, authorising us to act on your behalf to retrieve the unclaimed monies in your name. This Letter of Authority also acknowledges that we will be paid 20% of any monies collected for the work we have completed in locating & retrieving your lost funds.

Review

Once you have returned the signed Letter of Authority, we will conduct a review of your information & inform you of the documentation required to claim your lost funds.
Each institution requires a certain number of standard documents, including certified copies of your documentation. There may be slight variations to the documents required by the different holding authorities.
We will give you a list of what is required to proceed with your claim.
We will never ask you for your bank details
Refunds are paid by trust account cheque
Claim
Once we have your Letter of Authority and all of the required documentation for your claim, we then submit your paperwork.
During this process, depending on the holding authority, we may also need to provide a form, signed by you, stating that we are acting as your Refund Agent. This keeps us accountable as a third party in this process. During this time, you will also receive communication from the holding authority on the progress of your claim.

Communication

Depending on the holding authority, from the time we submit your claim till the funds are released can take anywhere from 8-12 weeks, although sometimes it can be faster.
During this time, we check in regularly with the holding authority for progress updates. You may also receive direct communication from them as well. We will contact you if they require any further information.
Otherwise, we will contact you as soon as the money has been released by the holding authority.
Refund
Once the holding authority deposits the money into our Trust Fund, we arrange the release of your funds, based on the Letter of Authority you signed.
Once the total amount of your unclaimed funds is received and cleared we will send the total amount by trust fund cheque to you within 14 days by registered post.
